Discussion starter · #1 · feb 27, 2021 (edited) i just received a fan wiring kit from afco (bought the fan, shroud and radiator from them) and it came with a 25 amp relay and a 30 amp fuse. I want to replace the fuse with a circuit breaker. Shouldn't the breaker or fuse be lower amps than the relay? Fuse noun a cord that, when lit, conveys the fire to some explosive device.
Fuse noun the mechanism that ignites the charge in an explosive device. Relay noun (by extension) a new set of anything. Relay nouna new set of hounds. fuse nouna cord that, when lit, conveys the fire to some explosive device. relay nouna new set of horses kept along a animals difference between a donkey and a burro . a fuse protects a circuit from overload and a relay is a control device that uses a small amount of electrical current to control a larger amount or current. This video shows the main difference between a fuse and a relay. Relays are generally classified as carrying loads of 10a or less, while a contactor would be used for loads greater than 10a, but this definition, while simple, gives an incomplete picture. It leaves out any physical differences, or standards. Relay outputs are mechanical and have moving parts, so they have a lower lifespan, but can handle higher loads. Relays are switching devices which are toggled if power is fed to them.
